One of Roman's first outings in his Baby Bjorn. He's still on the fence about whether he likes it or not. Like many things with Roman (and like the bus in the movie "Speed") as long as you keep moving with him he's fine; but if you stop and stand still for a minute things go down hill fast.

Why Cookie isn't allowed to go outside after dark!

This is the field behind our house. In this picture a storm is on the horizon, which never arrived. During the day it looks calm and peaceful out there. At night, it takes on a different face. Since our bedroom is close to the backyard we regularly hear all the sounds of the night which include a donkey sounding off regularly, dogs barking, coyotes howling, birds singing, an occasional owl hooting, etc.


This is Cookie the cat. She's wondering why she can't go outside. She's also wondering what happened to our other cats that have disappeared recently. We don't know the answer to what happened to her friends, but we suspect that a lot happens at night in the field near our house...which means she's not allowed outside at night...

So, today Roman's new walker/bouncer "baby einstein" play thing came in so I put it together quickly as Romi and abuela eagerly watched from a distance. He seems to like it but he needs to grow about 2 more inches to really be able to reach the base.

More peek-a-boo...

Grand-mere started a peek-a-boo game just before bath time. Roman was very entertained...

This was a shot after Roman ate his first semi-solid food (mixed putrefied fruit). It was funny to watch b/c at first he was confused and just tried to suck on the spoon of fruit being thrust into his mouth. Eventually he resorted to animal-like tactics and just inhaled his food with little snorts...very cute!
